Rejuvenation

Dermatologists like myself have long known he best way to keep your skin youthful is to avoid rays from the sun. But maybe you love to be outside. What can we offer for people worried about wrinkles, splotchiness of color, or skin roughness?

The Woodbury family of four Dermatologist has recommended use of certain Alpha-Hydroxy Acid Creams - or AHA-containing creams – the GlycoShea™ Creams – since the 1980s. These contain an anti-wrinkle chemical, Glycolic Acid, originally discovered in pineapple and sugarcane. Glycolic Acid promotes exfoliation, helping older, dead skin cells to be released from the skin surface, allowing newer cells to develop. The result is more even color in the skin, with an improvement in skin texture and tone. The GlycoShea Creams are now available not only in Tennessee but also nationally, through Big River Silk Skincare Inc.. of which I am the President since 2016

The GlycoShea Creams are “organic” because they incorporate carbon atoms, particularly through their Shea Butter, from an African tree – the Shea Tree. Shea nuts have been used by the peoples of the Sahel region of Africa as both a moisturizer and a foodstuff for hundreds of years, so they have a long safety track record. We blend the Glycolic Acid with Shea Butter, avoiding sulfates, parabens, formaldehyde, propylene glycol, and fragrances, making these products “hypoallergenic.” The results is pure GlycoShea Facial&Neck Cream, GlycoShea Hand&Body Cream/Standard Strength, and GlycoShea Hand&Body Cream/High Strength.

We also manufacture a gentle moisturizer free of acid –HypoShea™ Moisturizer Cream – free of dyes, perfumes, and formaldehyde.
