Big River Silk Skincare’s GlycoShea for a Radiant You for Summer '22

Exfoliation is the natural process whereby our skin renews itself, working against premature skin aging and wrinkling from sun exposure. As a Dermatologist, I spend a fair amount of my day helping patients deal with prior sun damage. Here are a couple of my ideas from 30 years of practicing Dermatology, on keeping your skin more wrinkle-free, with better tone and texture:

Dr. Woodbury, assistant Dani: use of Big River Silk Skincare's GlycoShea Facial&Neck Cream, at the Southern Women's Show, Memphis TN.

The first and most important measure is to limit exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun and from tanning salons: stay out of the sun, and use a “broad spectrum sunscreen” with an SPF of at least 30. But many of us have had too much prior sun exposure, promoting premature wrinkling and roughness.

Fortunately, ongoing research in Dermatology has shown that a category of chemicals called AHAs or “Alpha-hydroxy Acids” promotes exfoliation in your skin, evening out skin color and reduding fine lines, making AHAs into effective anti-wrinkle creams.

The AHA that penetrates into the skin the most easily is Glycolic Acid, because it’s the smallest molecule among the AHAs. So starting in 2016 I decided to work with Glycolic Acid, and now a company of which I am President, Big River Silk Skincare Inc., manufactures and distributes its own GlycoShea™ Facial&Neck Cream, GlycoShea Hand&Body Cream/Standard Strength, and GlycoShea Hand&Body Cream/High Strength.

The GlycoShea Creams blend the skin-moisturizing properties of Refined Shea Butter, a natural product from an African tree, with the skin-smoothing effects of Glycolic Acid, GlycoShea’s anti-wrinkle ingredient. We blend these components into what’s called emulsions, using some of the purest natural water in the United States, from the Memphis Sands.

GlycoShea Facial&Neck Cream: 1 oz: $39.95/2 oz; $59.95;8 oz; $179.95

GlycoShea Hand&Body Cream/Standard Strength: 1 oz: $19.95/2 oz: $29.95/8 oz: $89.95.

GlycoShea Hand&Body Cream/High Strength: $29.95/2 oz: $44.95/8 oz; $144.95.

The GlycoShea Creams can be used in conjunction with Ambersoy™ Soap Gel, also available through Big River Silk Skincare. Ambersoy is a particularly effective cleanser because it can be used as a face or body mask, perhaps 5-10 minutes before rinsing it off. It’s most suitable for people with oily skin or combination skin, providing a particularly deep clean. Best of all, Big River’s AmberSoy has no propylene glycol, no sulfates, no dyes, nor parabens. Available in Mint, Lemon, and No Fragrance Added. 1 oz: $12.95/2 oz: $18.95/8 oz: $59.95.
