Many of us in this era of COVID wash our hands more frequently, so we need proven skincare. Our formula for HypoShea allows it to be thick, so it can be effective without having to be applied multiple times a day.
HypoShea Moisturizer Cream is remarkable for being an emulsion – a suspension of water in oil. This preparation of Shea Butter allows the product to moisturize without becoming greasy.
HypoShea Moisturizer Cream is also truly hypoallergenic. That means it’s low risk for causing allergic reactions. It contains absolutely no fragrances and no dyes. However, it does have to have two preservatives, to protect the users of the product from microorganisms. As a dermatologist, I am quite familiar with risk of contact dermatitis from preservatives like parabens and formaldehyde derivatives, so I selected two preservatives that are generally considered to be low risk of causing allergic contact dermatitis – namely benzyl alcohol and phenoxyethanol. No preservative is completely without risk, but these seemed the safest choices.
